Board Meeting

The monthly meeting of the Fairwood West Homeowners’ Association Board of Trustees was called to order at 7:07 pm on Thursday June 12th, 2014.  Trustees in attendance were Adrian Ryneveld, Ray Byrd, and Brandy Bradford.  Also in attendance was Barb Simeona, Association Bookkeeper, and two homeowners.

Any changes to the outside of your home must have
an approved architectural control form on file
prior to work being done on the home.

Renton Fire Department – No one present to report.

Homeowner Appeals – No one present to appeal.

Community Events – The Annual Garage Sale is the last weekend of June.  All the signs are up.

Pride In Ownership – Ray Byrd presented a nomination.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting – A motion was made seconded and approved to accept the May meeting minutes as presented. 

Financial Report – The monthly financial report was presented. 

Treasurer’s Report – Nothing new to report.

Architectural Control Report – Nothing new to report.

Common Properties Report – Adrian reported that he is in the final stages of completing an application for grant funding from King County.  He gave everyone in attendance an overview of the issue.  We are asking King County for $1.2m.  The project has grown because not only does the pipe have to be replaced but the Fish and Game Department is now involved so there now has to be a safe passage for fish.  There are also 5 Indian Tribes imposing conditions on the repairs.

The application will be submitted this weekend.  The grant would cover the entire project with the HOA paying $100K out of pocket which is set aside in reserves and would be paid over the next 3 years.

Covenant Enforcement – All homes in violation were reviewed. 

Unfinished Business – See action items below.

New Business – Two homeowners’ were in attendance to observe and voice their displeasure in the condition of the area.  They feel it is not the same as 25 years ago.  They were invited to join the Board and help out.
The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m. after a motion was made, 2nd and approved to adjourn.

The next two monthly meetings of the Fairwood West Homeowners’ Association will be held on Thursday July 17th, 2014 in the Church Youth Room and Thursday August 14th, 2014 in the portable building both at 7:00 p.m., at the Nativity Lutheran Church, 17707 140th SE. 

All residents are welcome to attend.
